will provide the music and the following authors will read
from their work at this special Literary Soiree:
Sheila O’Connor
is the author of the novels
Where No Gods Came
and
Tokens of Grace.
Where No Gods Came
was
chosen as a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers title and won the
Minnesota Book Award as well as the Michigan Award for Literary Fiction. Her
poetry and fiction have been published in various anthologies and magazines.
Patti Frazee’s
novel Cirkus was published by Alyson Books in 2006 and is a finalist for a Minnesota Book Award. Patti received an honorable mention in the 2005 Emerging Lesbian Writers Fund from the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice. Her work has also been published in WaterStone Review.Maureen Millea Smith’s
novel When Charlotte Comes Home was released by Alyson Books in 2006 and is a finalist for a Minnesota Book Award. This is her second appearance at a First Universalist Soiree.Pamela Carter Joern’s
novel, The Floor of the Sky, was chosen as a Barnes and Nobel Discover Great New Writers title. Pamela has written six plays as well as a number of published short stories. In 2001, she received a Tamarack Award for her story "Confessions."
